About this item
Tegris 6-ply sheet for rigid inserts
Milliken Tegris® is a grey thermoplastic composite sheet made from 100% polypropylene. Item 4000150274: 6 plies, 121 × 182 cm, 0.7 mm nominal thickness, ordered by the sheet. For rigid inserts, stiffeners and moulded components. The six-ply 0.7 mm execution suits projects with limited insert space. Finished-part stiffness depends on shape, size and attachment.
Polypropylene composite construction
Tegris uses polypropylene tape yarns with an ABA structure. During consolidation, the outer layers bond the fabric plies while the oriented core provides reinforcement. The manufacturer describes a combination of low density, stiffness and impact resistance, including at low temperatures. The woven surface appearance does not establish the presence of carbon fibre.
Thickness and properties of different material forms
Article 4000150274 specifies 6 plies and 0.7 mm nominal thickness. The general datasheet’s 0.125 mm per ply is a typical consolidation result; multiplying it does not replace the item specification. Unconsolidated fabric has separate 0.40 mm and 98 g/m² values, and the 14 GPa modulus applies to tape yarn rather than the finished sheet.
Processing and combination with other materials
The sheet can be cut and formed to the required geometry. Milliken describes heat-and-pressure consolidation, bonding to other materials using a dedicated bond layer, and painting after suitable priming. Select processing conditions, adhesive and coating for the design and validate a sample; the tape yarn’s 120 °C sealing value is not a universal sheet-pressing instruction.
Colours and illustration
This item is grey. The supplied sheet lists silver, white and black/graphite family colours; the currently published Milliken document lists Coyote and Grey/Silver. This does not establish availability of every colour for this article. The prepared illustration uses a manufacturer reference to show the family appearance; assess the exact shade, weave and thickness using a sample.
Reading the impact test data
Both PDFs contain inconsistent J/ft-lb pairs for Gardner Dart Impact. The table retains them with a note, without guessing which number is correct. Obtain Milliken clarification before using them in engineering calculations. Thermal expansion is shown with the negative 10⁻⁶ exponent from the current PDF. A general material datasheet is not a ballistic certification of a finished assembly.
Ordering and sheet selection
Specify article 4000150274, 6 plies, 121 × 182 cm format, grey colour and sheet quantity. Include requirements for the finished part, cutting or samples. A DELIM manager will confirm availability, price, minimum quantity and lead time.
