How to avoid a sizing error

Specify the webbing width, thickness and threading method. When replacing a component in a finished product, add an overall photo of the assembly and close-ups of the part and its markings.

For a side-release buckle, say whether you need a complete pair. If replacing only one half, compatibility is checked separately—the same strap width is not sufficient proof.

Describe the conditions of use and load requirements. Data for another model or a generic material name does not confirm that the selected part is suitable. Before series production, arrange a sample to test in your product.

Will the buckle fit my webbing?

Checking requires the webbing width, thickness and construction as well as the exact buckle model. It is best to test them together in the finished assembly.

Can halves from different buckles be joined?

Do not assume compatibility from appearance alone. Send the designations of both parts for checking or ask for a complete set.

What load can the component withstand?

This cannot be determined from a photo or brand name. State your requirements; the available technical data must be checked for your exact part number.

Can I order a few parts for a repair?
