Selecting Gedeon material for your construction

According to the manufacturer, Gedeon makes technical knits, meshes and 3D spacer fabrics for clothing, bags and accessories, and upholstery.

Purchasing still starts with a specific function in the finished product. DELIM can structure the requirements, check available article data and coordinate sample verification where possible.

Standard mesh or 3D spacer fabric

They are not synonyms. A standard mesh may have an open construction, while a 3D spacer fabric has a three-dimensional structure. Thickness, resilience and seam behaviour depend on the exact article and cannot be carried over between fabrics.

Start with the task. A bag pocket requires you to consider hole size, stretch and cut-edge finishing. For a back panel or strap, consider stack thickness, compression and the adjacent lining. A garment insert or upholstery layer needs separate criteria for surface feel, shape and assembly. These examples frame a requirement; they do not mean every material suits every use.

Use the general mesh category as a starting point. It is not a Gedeon catalogue: confirm the manufacturer of each specific listing separately.

What to verify for your construction

If you know the article, include it in the enquiry. Then state fibre composition, surface weight in g/m², thickness in mm, usable width, colour and stretch direction. Describe the surrounding layers and how the fabric will be cut, sewn and edge-finished. For a replacement, add a photo of the assembly or a reference sample.

Test a sample in the intended material stack: after cutting, in the seam, and with the selected binding or other finish. This helps assess the exact fabric in your process; it does not create a blanket performance guarantee.
